Office Operations Assistant/Receptionist (Office Specialist 2)
About the role
The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) is responsible for assuring safe and healthful working conditions for Oregon workers through promulgation and enforcement of Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, and by providing education and consultation to employees and employers.
Responsibilities
- Serving as receptionist for OR-OSHA’s Central office by directing visitors to appropriate locations within the office and responding to phone inquiries from public and private employees, employers, state agencies, and other organizations and stakeholders regarding Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division’s program responsibilities and services
- Providing technical support for the Records Management section and Citation Processing sections by reviewing employer citations for errors and verifying for consistency, and preparing citations for mailing
- Coinciding the purchase of office supplies and material for 73+ Central Office staff
- Coinciding and arranging registration for all OR-OSHA staff training needs
Requirements
- Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents
- An associate degree in any field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills
- Spanish bilingual skills are required for this position
- Experience determining customer needs to connect them with the right resources via phone and or in person
- Experience maintaining professionalism when communicating with individuals that may be emotional, upset, or angry
- Demonstrated experience maintain consistent attention to detail
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include two years of general clerical experience, an associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay
The salary range listed is the non-PERS eligible rate. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible after 6 months of employment, the salary range will increase by 6.95% and the required 6% employee retirement contribution will be deducted from your pay.
