About the role
The Office of the Deputy Dean for Education oversees the MD, Physician Assistant Online, and Physician Associate Programs, including admissions, curriculum, financial aid, student affairs, and student research. It also manages non-degree programs and resources such as the Program for Humanities in Medicine, Program for Biomedical Ethics, Global Health Education, Center for Healthcare Simulation, Center for Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, and the Cushing Whitney Medical Library.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the MD program curriculum rebuild and accreditation process
- Managing the administrative component of the Physician Associate Program
- Guiding strategic planning, continuous quality improvement, accreditation, and communications for medical education at YSM
- Developing and managing strategic internal and external communications for all programs and units within medical education
Requirements
Experience in medical education, academic administration, and strategic planning is required. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential.
Qualifications
A Master's degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in academic administration or related fields, and a proven track record of success in leading initiatives and projects.
Skills
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and project management skills are necessary. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required.
