Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist Office of Community and Government Relations in strengthening partnerships with Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation and Easley Center.
  • Help to plan and execute tailored communications vehicles, including social media, to communicate with constituents and partners in the Edgehill/Rose Park area.
  • Do data entry as necessary.
  • Meet with Metro Parks and Easley Center/Rose Park staff and develop relationships with Belmont's Edgehill neighborhood partners.
  • May attend neighborhood meetings.
  • May facilitate or work with Edgehill youth to produce communications designed to promote programs at Easley Center/Rose Park.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent grammar, spelling & punctuation.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing publication of written material.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer software programs used to write and edit various materials.
  • Proofreading and editing skills.
  • Ability to write and speak clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to establish relationships.
  • Use of Social Media.
  • Work on deadline.
  • Confidentiality.

Required Education

  • Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont.

Required Experience

  • Paid or volunteer work on print or electronic newspaper, blogs, YouTubes, social media for high school, college, church, non-profit, etc.
