About the Role
Watkins is looking for an Office Manager to support the Omaha facility. This role directs and coordinates activities of employees engaged in administrative and accounting support while ensuring compliance with the Company Safety Program and Policies. Occasional Saturdays will be required. The position requires safeguarding confidential company and management information.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and supervises administrative support staff, including one JAC, Office Administrator, and Receptionist.
- Guides employees on company administrative processes, procedures, and policies.
- Develops and trains employees to achieve high-quality customer service, resolve customer issues, and meet company goals.
- Implements operating methods and procedures to eliminate operational problems.
- Oversees maintenance and repair needs of the office building.
- Assists the General Manager with special projects as needed.
- Credit Review & Support:
- Supports the Credit Department with debt collection of accounts receivable.
- Conducts initial review and verification of credit applications, including gathering banking, supplier references, and business project needs.
- Ensures appropriate management reviews the final credit package before submission to the Credit Manager.
- Payroll/Accounting Support:
- Understands and communicates basic payroll functions and processes.
- Provides backup for processing confidential payrolls.
- Processes invoices for accounts payable according to department standards.
- Human Resources Support:
- Collaborates with NEBCO Corporate HR Team on various HR processes.
- Conducts new employee orientation, including benefits and company policies.
- Assists employees with insurance enrollment and ensures compliance with Payroll & Benefits standards.
- Oversees maintenance of personnel records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Office Administration, Accounting, or related field with 2 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable under the company driver policy.
- Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level.
- Previous experience with accounting software is highly desirable.
- Experience in a construction environment is beneficial.
