Responsibilities
- Records, prepares, and distributes meeting minutes and weekly progress reports.
- Maintains Project Quantities Book.
- Maintains current records of contractor progress payments, contract drawings, and other documents as required.
- Supervises clerical staff in the field office.
- Participates in processing change orders and claims, and coordinates support for estimating, schedule analysis, and engineering associated with changes.
- Participates in negotiations and claims settlements as directed by the resident engineer.
- Covers taking contractor monthly progress photos and monthly resident engineer photos.
- Acts as a liaison between the field inspection team and contractor personnel as directed by the resident engineer.
- Covers coordinating receipt of, logging in, and distributing contractor submittals, inspector daily reports, and contractor daily reports.
- Covers coordinating and logging responses to RFIs and technical document reviews with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience as an Office Engineer or in project documentation on infrastructure projects.
- Rail or transit experience required.
- Strong working knowledge of contract documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay estimates.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, MS Excel, and other document management platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
