About the role
The Person County Department of Social Services is seeking a customer-focused, organized, and detail-oriented Office Assistant IV to join the Child Support Unit. This position plays a vital role in supporting the unit's mission of improving the well-being of children and families by helping ensure that court-ordered child support is collected efficiently and consistently.
Responsibilities
- Provides customer service for calls and visits.
- Completes income withholding and mail to employers.
- Enters address and employment data into system.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years of customer service, clerical support or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
- This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.

Pay
- The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
