About the role

  • Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression
  • Manage front office duties including answering phones, checking mail and email, communicating with patients and insurance companies
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records management
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits, and explanation of coverage
  • Process insurance and patient payments and manage accounts receivable
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
  • Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems

Responsibilities

  • Support the front office environment to ensure a welcoming and efficient experience for patients
  • Communicate effectively with patients and insurance companies to manage appointments and claims
  • Manage patient records and insurance claims using Dentrix
  • Ensure timely processing of insurance and patient payments
  • Collaborate with providers and the team to optimize office operations

Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable
  • Dentrix or similar dental software experience preferred
  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • Regular HIPAA training required

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Training

  • Required to complete tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to starting employment
  • Periodic virtual training sessions (or in-person) may be required
