Office Assistant I, Primary Care at Smyrna
ChristianaCare's Primary Care at Smyrna is seeking a detail-oriented, adaptable, and highly organized Medical Office Assistant I with strong communication skills and the ability to proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to care for patients of all ages while working alongside a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality, comprehensive healthcare. Our providers specialize in family medicine and are committed to supporting the health and well-being of the communities we serve, from well-child visits and preventive care to the management of acute and chronic conditions.
Schedule
Mondays through Fridays: 8:00am - 4:30pm. No weekends or holidays.
Responsibilities
- Handle payments, verify insurance coverage, and coordinate referrals.
- Reconcile daily appointments and payments.
- Manage communications by answering calls, relaying messages, and using EMR systems to coordinate with providers and staff.
- Update patients, schedule tests and appointments, and maintain medical records.
- Resolve patient issues and support administrative tasks.
- Follow safety protocols and perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- Experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required.

Pay
Hourly pay range: $17.32 - $25.12. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
