About the role
The Office Assistant will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of the Family Practice Clinic. You will be responsible for managing various administrative tasks and ensuring that all clinic operations comply with policies and regulations.Responsibilities
- Perform patient check-in at the time of visit; interview patients and complete all necessary paperwork to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all clinic policies are adhered to.
- Copy/scan patient medical records, benefit/insurance information, and related hardcopy materials into the correct location in the electronic medical record system.
- Handle patient check-out, including pricing services, coding of procedures performed, and diagnosis on charges, to ensure accuracy and compliance with documentation requirements.
- Collect patient responsibility payments and address routine patient insurance and billing inquiries.
- Answer phone calls, confirm next day appointments, ensure insurance coverage, and inform patients about required documentation and payment schedules.
- Gather, verify, and process referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications by coordinating with physicians, patients, and payers.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED upon hire.
- 1-3 years of related experience in a healthcare environment upon hire.
