About the role
The Office Assistant will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of the clinic, ensuring all administrative tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with clinic and regulatory policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient check-in at the time of visit; interviews patients and completes all necessary paperwork.
- Copies and scans patient medical records, benefit/insurance information, and related documents into the electronic medical record system.
- Performs patient check-out, including coding of procedures and diagnoses, and ensures accurate documentation for billing purposes.
- Collects patient responsibility payments and answers routine insurance and billing inquiries.
- Answers phone calls, confirms appointments, verifies insurance coverage, and provides patients with necessary documentation regarding payment schedules.
- Gathers, verifies, and processes referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications, coordinating with physicians, patients, and payers.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent upon hire.
- Two years of related experience in a healthcare environment upon hire.
Preferred
- None upon hire.
