Off Premise Chain Manager, Dallas
We are hiring a full-time, field-based Off Premise Chain Manager for the North Texas territory. The ideal candidate must live in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area.
About the role
The Off Premise Chain Manager is responsible for increasing availability and visibility of the Boston Beer portfolio within their assigned regional territory to generate depletion growth while adding value to wholesaler and retailer partners. Primary focus is dedicated to all off-premise, regional, and national large-format and liquor accounts, while aligning with the Region Manager to execute programs in the territory. This position also assists in developing the entire Off Premise Chain of Trade (COT).
Responsibilities
- Be proficient in Boston Beer Company’s systems and selling processes with retailers, wholesalers, and indirect reports
- Demonstrate beer industry knowledge, brewing, and BBC product styles
- Hunt for new business opportunities while growing current business in national, regional, and local account groups, managing budgets for proper ROI
- Utilize effective verbal and written communication with wholesalers, accounts, and coworkers, including delivering creative and impactful presentations using PowerPoint
- Maintain and strengthen buyer and wholesaler relationships through strategic selling and superior customer service
- Develop and drive Goals, Strategies, Objectives, and Tactics (GSOT) for defined account base
- Effectively mobilize wholesaler network and BBC sales teams to fulfill mandates, sell vs. authorizations, address compliance issues, and capitalize on key selling opportunities
- Interpret data to create compelling selling stories
Requirements
- 4+ years of consumer packaged goods sales experience, including proven success managing and developing a team
- 1+ year of experience calling on off-premise buyers
- Experience calling on national and regional accounts (e.g., Tom Thumb, Costco, Kroger, Total Wine, HEB, and regional Texas retailers)
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and data analytic tools such as Circana/NIQ or Power BI
- Ability to lift the weight equivalent to one case of beer
- Valid driver’s license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to drive to accounts continuously
- Local travel (~70%) to attend retail and distributor sales calls and meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Adult alcohol-beverage industry experience
- Wholesaler management and/or national account management experience
Pay
The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $140,000, dependent on related experience, skillset, and location. This position also qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
