Duties And Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of Assistant Managers, Sales Associates, Utility Workers, and Team Leads.
- Delegates assignments to staff under the direction of the District Manager and keeps them informed of changes in policy and trends.
- Holds all team members accountable for established best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Provides comprehensive training of job duties, policies and procedures, ethical codes of conduct, corporate compliance, etc.
- Evaluates performance and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Ensures store equity and compliance with all federal, state and local regulations; safety, security, and quality standards/codes, and agency policy.
- Assists team members in understanding and complying with CARF standards.
- Oversees/monitors the quality and quantity of merchandise and production output is adequate to meet sales goals.
- Ensures the highest level of customer service to reduce customer complaints and problems.
- Ensures that proper volume of new goods merchandise is available on sales floor.
- Contributes to E-Merchandise inventory so that revenue goals are met.
- Handles cash register processes, money handling, paperwork, and deposits.
- Maintains top-flight condition and appearance of retail store focusing on housekeeping and safety at all times.
- Communicates needs for repair, fixtures, maintenance, etc.
- Sets vision for store in execution of merchandising, store presentation, inventory, and customer service relations.
- Analyzes sales and trends to maximize income opportunities.
- Ensures that all store documentation including daily/weekly sales, staff, schedules, EAPs, production statistical data, etc. is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Reviews applications for vacant positions, conducts interviews, and makes hiring decisions.
- Possesses a positive attitude and infects others with similar enthusiasm.
- Works collaboratively within department to maximize service opportunities and maintain a continuous improvement agenda.
- Reviews and analyzes the store sales, average transaction amount, departmental allocation, etc. in order to establish performance standards, detect trends, and determine proper course of action.
- Works with supervisor and direct reports to promote retail activities and develop and implement strategies resulting in increased revenues.
- Is available during nontraditional hours including some weekend, holidays and evening periods.
- Serves as an emergency contact for agency locations in need of support outside regular business hours.
- Covers areas outside of home base retail store which may include traveling to other retail locations.
- Examines and analyzes expenses, production, and sales to achieve maximum E/R based on strategic goals and operating plans.
- Maintains systems to measure these activities on a regular basis.
- Analyzes monthly production, sales and donor reports to identify store weaknesses and develops strategies to correct them.
- Operates forklift truck.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years military service or related full-time employment.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make business, social, or civic contacts.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
- Possess a positive attitude and infect others with similar enthusiasm.
- Loyalty to the agency and its mission and policies.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
- Must be willing to obtain a forklift license if able.
- Ability to use good judgment, discretion, and initiative.
