About the role
Performs routine maintenance & service on cars, trucks & all types of agency-identified equipment.
Affords assistance with complex maintenance tasks performed by higher-level ODOT mechanics.
Assists lower-level mechanics with routine work activities such as job shadowing, required paperwork, and work order submission.
Performs minor repairs or miscellaneous mechanic work including inspections, repairs, and replacements of various parts.
Maintains records of repairs & maintenance including daily time sheets, part orders, and service calls.
Responsibilities

- Assists higher-level ODOT mechanics with complex maintenance tasks.

- Performs minor repairs or miscellaneous mechanic work including inspections, repairs, and replacements of various parts.
- Maintains records of repairs & maintenance including daily time sheets, part orders, and service calls.
Requirements
Minimum 24 months of experience in automotive repair & maintenance of variety of vehicles &/or all types of equipment identified by agency.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
Alternatively, 12 months as ODOT Mechanic Trainee, 52151, with valid CDL required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
Equivalent of minimum class qualifications noted above, except for mandated licensure.
Valid Class A CDL without air brake restriction, with tanker endorsement must be obtained during probationary period & maintained thereafter.
