OD Coordinator

About the role

Visionworks is seeking charismatic individuals who will be the heart of the brand, delivering friendly service both over the phone and in‑store. The OD Coordinator is the face of the exam practice, guiding patients through their eye‑care journey and ensuring a simple, human, and bold experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training and scheduling of OD Technicians.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce patients to the Optometrist (OD) and provide the OD with important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor, supplying associates with necessary information to recommend products and services.
• Execute day‑to‑day operational activities for the exam lane, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
• Count the Optometrist’s daily revenue and prepare deposits.
• Prepare technician work schedules to meet patient and doctor demand.

Qualifications

• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not required.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; related job experience.
• Licensed OD Technicians must have or maintain a State Optician’s License.
• For remote or hybrid roles, demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings.

Pay

Full‑time position with an hourly rate of $12.50–$14. Compensation may vary by market; actual pay is determined by experience and other job‑related factors. The role may also include eligible bonuses, equity, and commissions.
