October 2026 Nurse Fellow-L&D

Nurse Fellow position for RNs transitioning into a new practice setting. This is a highly technical, fast-paced role within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on patient-centered care and professional growth.

About the role

Registered Nurse (RN) renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients. The RN provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation), directs and supervises other assigned team members, and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards.

Nurse Fellows are required to sign a Nurse Fellowship Program commitment outlining expectations. Fellows must attend all classes and follow the schedule of assigned preceptors throughout the clinical rotation. A full-time schedule of at least 36 hours per week is required during the first year. Time off requests during the precepted portion may not be granted.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Additional certifications as required by the department.
• Minimum one year of RN experience in any specialty area.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards.
• Ability to work with confidential material.
