Role Overview
The Senior Living Occupational Therapist provides age-appropriate rehabilitation services for adult to geriatric patients, including assessments, direct treatments, supervision of treatment staff, patient and family education, and documentation. The role involves developing personalized treatment plans, utilizing various therapeutic equipment and techniques, and participating in team and family conferences. It requires providing safe, effective care while adhering to medical precautions and maintaining equipment logs.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating patients to determine rehab potential and setting individualized goals
- Creating treatment plans with short-term and long-term objectives
- Using and maintaining treatment equipment safely and properly
- Following medical regimens and precautions specific to patient conditions
- Completing discharge summaries and documenting services
Qualifications & Skills
- Current Occupational Therapy license in the practice state
- CPR certification
- Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, or access to reliable transportation
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations regardless of background or health condition
