Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) - Onsite - FMLA Coverage

About the Role

E-Therapy is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team, providing occupational therapy services to students in PreK-12 schools and helping them achieve developmental, educational, and functional goals.

Position Details

• Start Date: August 2026 – October 2026 (FMLA Coverage)
• Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
• Grade Levels: K-8 students
• Location: Algonquin, IL – Onsite Only
• Credentials: IL OT License required

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with students, parents, and school staff.
• Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to address students' specific needs and promote skill development.
• Monitor and document students' progress towards goals, adjusting intervention plans as needed.
• Provide consultation and support to teachers and other school staff regarding strategies to promote students' participation and success in the classroom.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for students' academic and functional needs.
• Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of students' education plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
• Must hold valid state license as an Occupational Therapist in the state in which you live in which you are practicing.
• Must be Registered with the National Board Certification Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Passionate about working with K-12 students.
• Experience providing occupational therapy services in a school or pediatric setting.
• Proficiency in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in pediatric occupational therapy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, computer skills (including email and Microsoft Teams).
• Knowledge of sensory integration therapy, handwriting without tears, and other therapeutic modalities (preferred).

Physical Requirements (Working in a School Setting)

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and move around in various areas of the school facility.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents both verbally and in writing.
• May need to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• May occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Must have the physical stamina to supervise and engage with students throughout the school day.
