About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in a skilled nursing facility setting, focusing on helping patients improve function and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Develop, assess, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, therapy, and medical staff.
- Supervise and evaluate therapy assistants and students.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including charting and therapy software use.
- Ensure patient safety, rights, and confidentiality while delivering compassionate care.
- Participate in community health projects and uphold compliance with laws and facility policies.
- Assist in patient transfers and demonstrate excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Current NBCOT certification and valid state license in good standing.
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT/MSOT); new graduates welcome.
- CPR certification required, with ongoing compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and effective communication skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate professionalism, and work well within a team.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting and moving patients.
