About the role

The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) seeks Occupational Therapists to support students with disabilities. The primary role involves providing direct and consultative services to ensure students can access educational environments and benefit from their special education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assess students' functional skills and abilities, and collaborate with IEP and 504 meetings to develop goals and services.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans addressing underlying deficits impacting students' educational access.
  • Work with regular and special educators to design and ensure Supplemental Aids & Services and Program Modifications are provided.
  • Procure materials and equipment for individual student needs, and progress monitor students' development towards treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to optimize access to educational environments and activities for students.
  • Educate staff on underlying factors impacting student access to education and how to mediate these in the educational environment.
  • Facilitate practices promoting inclusion across school environments and developing student independence for college and career readiness.
  • Engage in professional activities enhancing personal professional development.
  • Complete necessary documentation and paperwork, including daily treatment notes, IEPs, evaluation reports, treatment plans, quarterly progress updates, 504 plans, and Medicaid School-Based Services processes.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher from an accredited program for Occupational Therapists.
  • Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) license as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Current Wisconsin Department of Health Services license as an Occupational Therapist.

Benefits

MMSD offers a competitive compensation package, including a minimum annual compensation of $68,901 (25-26 TE Salary Schedule), with a length of contract of 192 days and employment type as Exempt.

Schedule

The length of the contract for this position is 192 days.
