Occupational Therapist - Per Diem - Days

About the role

The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, and delivers therapy programs to patients of all ages, aiming to restore function and prevent disability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and establish patient-centered goals
• Implement and adjust individualized treatment plans based on progress
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop discharge and follow-up plans
• Recommend home modifications and adaptive equipment
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic interventions and adaptive strategies
• Fabricate orthotic solutions as needed
• Perform home evaluations and document patient progress
• Communicate with healthcare providers regarding patient care
• Supervise staff and students as assigned
• Participate in quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
• New York State licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Skills

• Strong assessment and treatment planning abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of current therapy techniques and adaptive equipment
• Ability to travel within the region as required
• Commitment to compliance with professional standards and regulations
