About the role

The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages in inpatient and outpatient settings, serving as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Designing individualized care plans that incorporate goals, treatments, outcomes, and discharge strategies.
• Performing patient transfers, ensuring safety through proper body mechanics.
• Educating patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers using effective methods.
• Evaluating clinical findings to determine diagnoses and treatment effectiveness.
• Screening patients to assess therapy needs and utilizing support personnel ethically and legally.
• Documenting evaluations, care plans, and patient responses.
• Discharge planning, collaboration with the care team, and filling in for outpatient services as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (Illinois).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience in inpatient and outpatient care.
• Skills in patient transfer, clinical evaluation, and patient education.
