About the Role
The Occupational Therapist evaluates residents, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides therapeutic interventions to improve independence with daily living skills, mobility, safety, and overall functional performance.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents and determine occupational therapy needs and rehabilitation potential
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic interventions focused on ADLs, strength, coordination, balance, cognition, and safety
- Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, residents, and families regarding progress and goals
- Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team conferences
- Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
- Educate residents and caregivers on home programs, adaptive strategies, and fall prevention
- Recommend adaptive equipment and assistive devices to promote independence
- Supervise COTAs and therapy aides as appropriate
- Maintain a safe treatment environment and follow infection control procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master's or Doctorate preferred
- Current California Occupational Therapy license in good standing
