Occupational Therapist (OT) - Outpatient Therapy

About the Role

The Occupational Therapist evaluates, treats, and develops care plans for patients of all ages, serving as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient transfers, ensures safe body mechanics, designs individualized care plans, adjusts treatments based on patient response, and uses standardized outcome measures.
• Educates patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine diagnoses and treatment outcomes, conducts examinations, and screens patients to assess therapy needs.
• Utilizes support personnel ethically, monitors their care, and documents evaluations, treatment plans, and patient responses in compliance with policies and regulations.
• Implements functional interventions considering emotional and physical needs, modifies approaches as needed, and collaborates with the care team.
• Provides supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and technicians, and communicates patient status, discharge plans, and equipment needs clearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Valid Illinois OT license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
