About the role
The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages, serving as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.
Responsibilities
- Performing patient transfers safely and demonstrating proper body mechanics.
- Designing individualized care plans with goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge strategies.
- Educating patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers using effective methods.
- Evaluating clinical findings to determine diagnoses and treatment outcomes.
- Conducting examinations, screening patients, and adjusting therapy based on responses.
- Utilizing support personnel ethically and monitoring their care.
- Documenting evaluations, care plans, and patient progress according to policy.
- Evaluating upper extremity impairments, performing objective testing, and completing treatments such as ultrasound and fluidotherapy.
- Communicating progress and recommendations with referring providers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with valid licensure in the relevant state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
- Ability to perform patient transfers, evaluate clinical findings, and educate effectively.
- Knowledge of therapy procedures, documentation standards, and ethical guidelines.
