About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, ensuring compliance with laws and standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, assess, and modify patient treatment plans focused on activities of daily living.
- Establish, evaluate, and adjust measurable and functional goals.
- Oversee and evaluate care provided by OT Assistants, Rehab Aides, and students.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and utilize therapy software.
- Provide excellent patient service, demonstrate professionalism, and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams.
- Participate in community health initiatives and support patient needs through effective communication.
- Ensure safety, confidentiality, and adherence to organizational policies and legal regulations.
Requirements
- Certified by NBCOT; licensure in the applicable state, with active license in good standing.
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
- Experience preferred but new graduates are welcome.
- CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
- Strong communication, judgment, body mechanics, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform physical activities including sitting, standing, lifting, and moving intermittently.
- Adherence to confidentiality, safety, and professional standards.
