About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at Continental Springs, a state-of-the-art nursing home in South Sioux City, Nebraska. As an OT, you will play a vital role in helping our residents achieve their maximum functional potential and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the delivery of occupational therapy services to residents in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each resident.
  • Treat residents with dignity and respect, promoting independence, safety, and well-being in all aspects of daily living.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident progress and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation director to identify opportunities for enhanced services to residents and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Participate in facility-wide quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality care and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Requirements

  • Valid, unrestricted license in occupational therapy in the state of Nebraska.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Prior experience in a long-term care setting or similar healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, and guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with residents, staff, and family members.
