Role Overview

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care to patients based on physician referrals, adhering to legal standards and organizational policies. The role involves developing and modifying treatment plans, evaluating patient progress, supervising therapy staff, and ensuring accurate documentation using therapy software.

Qualifications & Skills

• NBCOT certification required; renewal optional
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
• Current state licensure in good standing
• CPR certification (upon hire or during orientation)
• Preferred: minimum one year of experience; new graduates welcome
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
• Strong communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills
• Ability to demonstrate good body mechanics and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Implement and adjust occupational therapy treatment plans focusing on activities of daily living
• Establish, assess, and modify patient goals
• Oversee therapy assistants, aides, and students
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation and charts
• Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate
• Ensure patient safety, rights, and confidentiality are upheld
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and excellent customer service
• Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team and follow organizational policies
• Assist in emergency situations and maintain physical mobility during work
