Occupational Therapist / OT

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide functional rehabilitation in real-life settings such as homes, schools, workplaces, and communities. This role emphasizes continuity of care as the primary therapist from evaluation to discharge, working in an autonomous yet collaborative team environment.

Schedule

Flexible, part-time schedule of 15-20 hours per week or more, depending on your availability. No weekend shifts required.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Regularly re-assess treatment plan effectiveness and attend staffing meetings/family conferences
• Conduct discharge evaluations, provide home/community safety recommendations, and offer referral/education resources
• Communicate patient needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, patient, and family members
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure coordinated care and enhance patient outcomes

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current, unrestricted state license as an Occupational Therapist in Texas
• Current CPR certification
• At least one year of work experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for complex neurological diagnoses (preferred)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds; occasional lifting/transferring of patients up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
• Fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to walk/stand for extended periods
• Additional physical requirements: pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and frequent positioning
• Health screen or examination may be required prior to and periodically during assignment
