About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy within a skilled nursing facility setting. This includes developing and implementing treatment plans to help patients improve their functional abilities and quality of life, especially for those recovering from surgery, illness, or injury.
Responsibilities
- Establish and assess patient goals
- Oversee therapy provided by OTAs and aides
- Document progress accurately
- Utilize therapy software
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
- Ensure patient safety and maintain confidentiality
- Adhere to all relevant laws and facility policies
- Participate in community health projects
- Demonstrate excellent customer service
- Follow treatment plans
- Evaluate and modify goals
- Chart progress
- Assist in patient evacuation
- Maintain professional relationships
- Demonstrate dependability, teamwork, and professionalism
- Ensure safety and quality care for a diverse patient population
Requirements
- NBCOT certification
- Valid state licensure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Good body mechanics
- Independent decision-making skills
- Strong communication abilities
- CPR certification
