About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation services in occupational therapy to a diverse patient population in a skilled nursing facility setting. The role involves developing and implementing treatment plans, assessing patient progress, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Follow and modify occupational treatment plans
- Establish, assess, and update patient goals
- Supervise and evaluate therapy staff and students
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and charting
- Collaborate with patients, families, and team members to coordinate care
- Participate in community health initiatives when appropriate
- Adhere to company policies, confidentiality, and ethical standards
- Oversee therapy sessions and maintain professional standards of care
Qualifications
- Current NBCOT certification and state licensure
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
Skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and therapy software
- Ability to make independent decisions and demonstrate professionalism
- Knowledge of legal, safety, and sanitation standards in healthcare
