Occupational Therapist (OT)

About the role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, ensuring compliance with laws and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living.
• Assess, modify, and evaluate patient goals and progress.
• Oversee and evaluate care provided by OT assistants, aides, and students.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and utilize therapy software effectively.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal care.
• Participate in community health projects as appropriate.
• Ensure safety, patient rights, and confidentiality standards are upheld.
• Assist in patient evacuation and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders.

• Chart and document care accurately and promptly.
• Utilize therapy software appropriately.

Qualifications & Skills

• NBCOT certification required; renewal optional thereafter.
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
• Current licensure in the applicable state, with active license maintained.
• Preferred one year of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• CPR certification, obtained upon hire or during orientation, must be kept current.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
• Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and body mechanics skills.
• Knowledge of post-acute care laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate professionalism, and adhere to company policies.
