About the role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, ensuring compliance with laws and standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living.
- Assess, modify, and evaluate patient goals and progress.
- Oversee and evaluate care provided by OT assistants, aides, and students.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and utilize therapy software effectively.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal care.
- Participate in community health projects as appropriate.
- Ensure safety, patient rights, and confidentiality standards are upheld.
- Assist in patient evacuation and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders.

- Follow and adjust treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Chart and document care accurately and promptly.
- Utilize therapy software appropriately.
- Communicate effectively within teams and with patients.
- Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with policies.
- Demonstrate dependable attendance and positive attitude.
Qualifications & Skills
- NBCOT certification required; renewal optional thereafter.
- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
- Current licensure in the applicable state, with active license maintained.
- Preferred one year of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- CPR certification, obtained upon hire or during orientation, must be kept current.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
- Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and body mechanics skills.
- Knowledge of post-acute care laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate professionalism, and adhere to company policies.
