Responsibilities
- Provide quality occupational therapy services and initiate referrals when appropriate, in accordance with established standards of practice, therapy department procedures, and productivity standards.
- Evaluate residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation and conduct specialized evaluations as indicated.
- Supervise and direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in the implementation of the treatment plan.
- Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL).
- Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
- Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
- Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals.
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) from an accredited program.
- Active Minnesota Occupational Therapist (OT) license in good standing.
- Experience in skilled nursing, home health, or rehabilitation settings preferred.
