Occupational Therapist (OT)

About the role

We are hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) for one of our clients in Carlsbad, TX. The successful candidate will perform complete occupational therapy assessments, create and implement treatment plans, and monitor their effectiveness. They will also attend client-centered meetings, provide information as needed, and conduct skills-based competency training for staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete occupational therapy assessments
• Create and implement treatment plans, including home-based plans
• Monitor plans for implementation and effectiveness
• Attend client-centered meetings or provide information as needed
• Conduct skills-based competency training for staff

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Participate in team meetings, train clients and staff, and maintain quality electronic record documentation
• Comply with the Rules and Regulations relating to Occupational Therapist Education, Licensure, and Practice in the State of Texas
• Abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of HHSC and the Facility

Qualifications

• Maintain current Occupational Therapist license with the State of Texas
• Maintain current certifications and CEUs for licensure
• Be in good standing with the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners

Preferred Experience

• Sensory Integration assessment and treatment planning
• School-based therapy and collaboration with teachers
• Outpatient Occupational therapy services

Other Requirements

• Comply with HHSC immunization requirements
• Submit to HHSC required drug test
• Submit to HHSC required fingerprinting
• Comply with facility and HHSC required training

Schedule

8 am to 5 pm, M-F, with some flexibility to conduct assessments.
