About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care within a skilled nursing facility, focusing on improving patients' functional abilities and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient needs.
- Assess patient progress and adjust goals to promote recovery and independence.
- Supervise and evaluate care provided by OT Assistants, Rehab Aides, and students.
- Document therapy activities accurately and timely using appropriate software.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.
- Maintain safety, patient rights, and confidentiality standards.
- Participate in community health projects and uphold professional ethics.
- Follow treatment plans, establish measurable goals, evaluate care quality, ensure proper documentation, and provide excellent patient service.
- Maintain professionalism, adhere to policies, and demonstrate dependable attendance.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
- Current licensure and registration in the applicable state; NBCOT certification preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and communication skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate good body mechanics, and work effectively within a team.
- New graduates are encouraged to apply; one year of experience is preferred.
- CPR certification required or obtained during orientation.
