Occupational Therapist (OT)

About the Role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care within a skilled nursing facility, focusing on improving patients' functional abilities and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient needs.
• Assess patient progress and adjust goals to promote recovery and independence.
• Supervise and evaluate care provided by OT Assistants, Rehab Aides, and students.
• Document therapy activities accurately and timely using appropriate software.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.
• Maintain safety, patient rights, and confidentiality standards.
• Participate in community health projects and uphold professional ethics.
• Follow treatment plans, establish measurable goals, evaluate care quality, ensure proper documentation, and provide excellent patient service.
• Maintain professionalism, adhere to policies, and demonstrate dependable attendance.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
• Current licensure and registration in the applicable state; NBCOT certification preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and communication skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate good body mechanics, and work effectively within a team.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply; one year of experience is preferred.
• CPR certification required or obtained during orientation.
