Occupational Therapist (OT)

About the role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, adhering to legal, regulatory, and facility standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
• Set measurable goals for patient progress
• Oversee therapy assistants and students
• Document patient progress accurately
• Utilize therapy software for treatment and documentation
• Deliver excellent patient service
• Participate in community health projects
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure patient safety and confidentiality
• Assist with patient evacuation as needed
• Maintain professional relationships with patients and colleagues
• Follow treatment plans and evaluate/modify goals as necessary
• Chart patient progress accurately and timely
• Demonstrate dependability and adherence to facility policies
• Maintain a positive attitude and ensure patient rights

Requirements

• NBCOT certification (renewal optional)
• State licensure in the applicable state
• CPR certification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Good body mechanics and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of post-acute care regulations
• Strong communication, professionalism, and teamwork

Qualifications

• Preference for one year of experience, though new graduates are welcome
