Occupational Therapist (OT)

About the role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy within a skilled nursing facility environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement patient-specific treatment plans to improve functional abilities and quality of life.
• Assess, modify, and evaluate progress towards realistic, measurable goals.
• Oversee and evaluate care provided by OT Assistants, aides, and students.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, therapy, and medical staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using therapy software.
• Assist in patient transfers and emergency evacuations as needed.
• Participate in community health initiatives and uphold patient safety, rights, and confidentiality.
• Maintain professional relationships, adhere to company policies, and demonstrate integrity and professionalism.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
• Active licensure and registration in the state; NBCOT certification preferred, renewal optional.
• CPR certification required, obtained upon hire or during orientation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of post-acute care regulations, patient safety, and body mechanics.
• Ability to make independent decisions and work effectively in a team.

• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, and walking.
• Good judgment, reasoning skills, and excellent customer service attitude.
• Willingness to participate in community health projects and continuous education.
