Occupational Therapist | North | PRN

About the Role

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for planning and providing occupational therapy for temporarily or permanently disabled patients in accordance with professional and MLH standards of treatment. Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessments.
• Implements patient treatments based on assessment and written plan.
• Provides ongoing patient assessment through observation and documentation.
• Identifies patient-specific Occupational Therapy rehabilitation learning needs and provides appropriate education.
• Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy (Required).
• Occupational Therapist license from the Tennessee Board of Occupational Therapy (Required).
• Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records.
• Strong verbal communication skills with Associates, physicians, and other professionals.
• Ability to work without close supervision and exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects while maintaining control of workflow.

Physical Demands

• Physical activities may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• Medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
• Close visual acuity required, including color, depth perception, and field of vision for activities such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data, and extensive reading.
• Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
• Exposure to patient body fluids as well as hazardous or poisonous materials.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.

Supervision

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance and direction to therapy assistants.
