Overview

IU Health is seeking team members committed to providing exceptional care for patients. The role involves delivering occupational therapy services to help patients recover physical and cognitive functions. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience with neurological patients and a Master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program, or foreign equivalency. Current licensure in Indiana and NBCOT certification are required. Part-time position (32 hours/week) for Neurorehabilitation & Robotics Team at Methodist Hospital.

About the Role

Provides direct patient care, develops skills in wheelchair assessments, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams. Supervises assistants and supports departmental operations. Cross-trains for inpatient coverage at Methodist Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers occupational therapy services to patients recovering from physical and psychological dysfunctions
  • Develops skills in wheelchair assessments, pressure mapping, and preparing Letters of Medical Necessity for custom wheelchair equipment
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary clinics within the IU Health system
  • Serves as a supervisor for occupational therapy assistants, support personnel, and students
  • Participates in cross-training for inpatient coverage at Methodist Hospital

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program, or foreign equivalency
  • Current license in the State of Indiana
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification preferred
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA

Qualifications

  • Experience with neurological diagnoses and impairments
  • Willingness to develop skills in wheelchair assessments and Letter of Medical Necessity preparation
  • Ability to supervise and mentor occupational therapy assistants and students
  • Knowledge of interdisciplinary clinic processes and patient care policies

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
