Occupational Therapist - Inpatient PRN

About the Role

This PRN Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. They participate in program planning, protocol development, and support team goals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations, review patient history, perform assessments, and communicate findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
• Implement treatment protocols based on evaluations, monitor patient progress, and consult with healthcare professionals as needed.
• Recognize and document changes requiring plan adjustments.
• Complete discharge planning, follow-up care, and maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Manage time effectively to meet productivity standards, demonstrate flexibility, and provide empathetic, patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Pursue ongoing professional development, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist with onboarding new staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• District of Columbia OT licensure or eligibility to obtain prior to employment.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
