About the Role
This PRN Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. They participate in program planning, protocol development, and support team goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations, review patient history, perform assessments, and communicate findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
- Implement treatment protocols based on evaluations, monitor patient progress, and consult with healthcare professionals as needed.
- Recognize and document changes requiring plan adjustments.
- Complete discharge planning, follow-up care, and maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Manage time effectively to meet productivity standards, demonstrate flexibility, and provide empathetic, patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Pursue ongoing professional development, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist with onboarding new staff, students, and volunteers.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- District of Columbia OT licensure or eligibility to obtain prior to employment.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
