Occupational Therapist - Inpatient PRN

About the role

The PRN Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. They participate in program planning, protocol development, and support team goals to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations by reviewing patient history, performing assessments, and documenting findings; explain results and involve patients and families in goal setting.
• Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient presentation, and healthcare environment; collaborate with healthcare professionals as needed.
• Perform discharge planning, follow-up care, and ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Manage time effectively to meet productivity standards; maintain flexible, compassionate, and patient-centered approach in service delivery.
• Pursue continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist in orientation and mentoring of staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• DC OT licensure or eligibility to obtain it prior to employment.
• American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
