About the role
The PRN Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. They participate in program planning, protocol development, and support team goals to enhance patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations by reviewing patient history, performing assessments, and documenting findings; explain results and involve patients and families in goal setting.
- Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient presentation, and healthcare environment; collaborate with healthcare professionals as needed.
- Perform discharge planning, follow-up care, and ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Manage time effectively to meet productivity standards; maintain flexible, compassionate, and patient-centered approach in service delivery.
- Pursue continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist in orientation and mentoring of staff, students, and volunteers.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- DC OT licensure or eligibility to obtain it prior to employment.
- American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
