Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide Occupational Therapy services and implement programs for severe and persistently mentally ill patients. This position functions as a member of the treatment team, participates in the training program for Level I and Level II fieldwork interns, and maintains patient records. This position supports the mission of the organization through active participation in clinical efforts to provide treatment in a recovery-oriented environment. The foundation of a recovery-oriented environment is respect and a commitment to safety in the least restrictive manner possible.

  • Provide Occupational Therapy services and implement programs for severe and persistently mentally ill patients.

  • Participate in the training program for Level I and Level II fieldwork interns.
  • Maintain patient records.

Requirements

  • Determined by the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Occupational Therapists.
  • One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy classifications or Therapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Qualifications

Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21228. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
