Occupational Therapist I
About the Role
Responsible for assessment, treatment planning, and execution of Occupational Therapy treatments. These services are based on patient and family preferences, developmental needs, medical conditions, and diseases as they affect patient care and recovery. The staff therapist maintains patient care documentation, adheres to documentation guidelines, and provides care following a treatment plan that addresses the patient's problems related to occupational performance.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Less than three years of licensure.
- Progressive and dynamic knowledge of Occupational Therapy with a willingness to participate in continuing education to remain current in new treatment theories.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Successful completion of the exam administered by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- OT licensure or eligibility with the State of North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT).

ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie, serving four nearby counties. The 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including medical, surgical, and radiation oncology. Additionally, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.
