Occupational Therapist / Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Rehabilitation department. Be part of a dynamic team within a progressive Critical Access Hospital that values a positive culture and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients with functional activities and exercises according to protocols and regulations.
• Review physician referrals, patient conditions, and medical records to determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Perform assessments of strength, motor skills, sensory perception, cognition, and daily activities; document findings to develop or adjust treatment programs.
• Record treatment progress, respond to patient responses, and ensure accurate documentation, including transcribing physician orders.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient care, suggest treatment revisions, and interpret therapy outcomes.
• Educate medical staff, students, and community groups on Occupational Therapy topics as delegated.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Valid Nebraska license as an Occupational Therapist or COTA.
• BLS certification.
