Job Description and Responsibilities
- Provide therapy services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with a passion for working with students with special needs.
Position Details
- Full-time school-based opportunity with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule for the 2026-2027 academic year (August 2026 through May 2027).
- Primary on-site, in-person position with limited remote flexibility for certain tasks.
- Deliver direct therapy services, complete evaluations and assessments, provide consultation, and manage assigned student caseloads.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized student support plans.
- Receive ongoing collaboration and guidance from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds Partners team.
- Guaranteed paid hours include direct services, documentation, planning, meetings, report writing, and administrative responsibilities.
- Balanced caseloads designed to support high-quality student services and professional success.
Qualifications
- BS, Master's, OTD, or PhD in Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited university.
- State License as Occupational Therapist.
- NBCOT License.
- Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required.
- Experience working with children.
- A strong foundation in Sensory Integration and ability to identify and analyze areas of developmental and sensory-motor dysfunction.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in use of technology.
- Fingerprint background clearance.
- The ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications.
Physical Requirements
- Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
