Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our acute care hospital rehabilitation team at St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. This full-time, day-shift role delivers occupational therapy services in an inpatient hospital setting, focusing on rehabilitation, functional mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), safety, and patient independence. The Occupational Therapist will treat adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including neurological conditions, orthopedic injuries, post-surgical recovery, stroke, and general medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients in an acute hospital setting to improve functional mobility, ADLs, safety, and independence
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for medically complex adult and geriatric patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support safe and timely discharge planning
• Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies and equipment use
• Document evaluations, progress, and discharge recommendations in the electronic medical record

Requirements

You must have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current state Occupational Therapy certification/license
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate

Qualifications

Additional qualifications that are a plus:

• National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy certification
• AOTA and OTAC membership
