ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSILITIES
- Perform skilled evaluations to assess functional abilities related to activities of daily living, work, and community participation.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on improving physical, cognitive, and psychosocial function.
- Provide interventions for a variety of conditions including post-surgical rehabilitation, neurological disorders, and chronic health conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other allied health professionals to deliver integrated care.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies for independence.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and culturally respectful documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in community health initiatives, prevention programs, and wellness education as needed.
- Respect and incorporate traditional practices and cultural values into treatment when appropriate and requested by patients.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Education and/or Experience: Master's or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Prior experience working in rural or underserved communities preferred. Adult care and nursing home experience is a plus.
- Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: Current License to practice Occupational Therapy.
- Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Flexibility and adaptability in a community-based setting.
