Occupational Therapist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSILITIES

• Perform skilled evaluations to assess functional abilities related to activities of daily living, work, and community participation.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on improving physical, cognitive, and psychosocial function.
• Provide interventions for a variety of conditions including post-surgical rehabilitation, neurological disorders, and chronic health conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other allied health professionals to deliver integrated care.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies for independence.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and culturally respectful documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Participate in community health initiatives, prevention programs, and wellness education as needed.
• Respect and incorporate traditional practices and cultural values into treatment when appropriate and requested by patients.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Education and/or Experience: Master's or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Prior experience working in rural or underserved communities preferred. Adult care and nursing home experience is a plus.
• Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: Current License to practice Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Flexibility and adaptability in a community-based setting.
