About the role

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary care team. This position plays a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury.

Responsibilities

  • Treat disabilities, injuries and disease using therapeutic techniques according to prescriptions from a physician, performs testing and evaluation procedures on patients.
  • Record and document patient observation, treatment and changes in condition.
  • Monitor, analyze and review clinical data.
  • Reevaluate and modify treatment plans and goals based upon patient performance.
  • Communicate clearly and provide explanation of care in a way that can be easily understood by patients and their families.
  • Ensure patient's family is informed of patient status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Masters preferred.
  • Experience in appropriate healthcare setting preferred.
  • Current Florida Occupational Therapist license.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA (American Heart Association).
  • Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) required (within 90 days of hire).
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to read/comprehend written instructions; able to follow verbal instructions; PC skills.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date(OT)
  • Bachelors Degree
  • No Travel Required
