Planning and conducting occupational therapy programs within Craig Hospital to facilitate rehabilitation of patients with neurologic injuries. Directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance life functions and facilitates the learning essential for adaptation of those functions.

We are looking for an Outpatient Occupational Therapist to conduct comprehensive seating, positioning, and assistive technology evaluations in our specialized Wheelchair Clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Complete thorough evaluation, including muscle tone, range of motion/mobility, orthopedic/splinting needs, movement analysis, perceptive/fine motor skills, sensory motor processing and functional activities of daily living.
  • Develop and implement a treatment program to meet the individual needs of the patient.
  • Assess and make recommendations regarding the use of adaptive equipment as needed, provide written justification, and coordinate purchase of equipment for the patient with team members, Clinical Care management and other allied professionals.
  • Consult, coordinate, communicate, and verbally present the patient's Occupational Therapy program and progress to the treating team members.
  • Make appropriate referrals to ancillary programs and clinics in order to enhance patients' functional progress.
  • Review physician referral and all medical records pertaining to the patient's condition.
  • Evaluate and document physical, emotional/cognitive, perceptual, and functional abilities.
  • Organize and lead individual and group treatment sessions.
  • Provide training to patients and families.
  • Participate in discharge planning, including home checkouts and recommends home modifications as it relates to assistive technology use.
  • Provide occupational therapy treatment in other department areas as requested.

Requirements

  • Registered as an Occupational Therapist; certified by the NBCOT required.
  • Current Colorado occupational therapy license or licensed in another state and application made for a Colorado license.
  • Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association.
  • Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • TBI and SCI experience preferred.

  • Basic computer skills.

Pay

$40.71/hour — $58.63/hour

Schedule

Full-time, Days; Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm
