About the role
Continuum North is seeking registered occupational therapists (OTs) to join their interdisciplinary teams. Services are provided across the territories on Dene, Inuvialuit, Inuit, and Gwich'in lands (in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut).
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and ways of being (or willingness to learn)
- Cultural humility/commitment to reconciliation
- Trauma-informed approach
- Innovative, creative, and adaptable communication
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Collaboration with interprofessional team, schools, communities, and families
- Commitment to northern travel
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including travel on small planes and walking on varied terrain
- Understanding of inclusive schooling and tiered model of service (MTSS/RTI)
- Experience working with children in preschool/early learning settings
Requirements
- Registered as an Occupational Therapist with a provincial college in Canada
- Commitment to the role based on availability
