Qualifications
- Licensed by the MN Department of Health as an Occupational Therapist
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited institution
- National Board Occupational Therapy Certified
- Pediatric experience required - school experience preferred
- Excellent skills in communication and collaboration (families and staff)
- Team oriented - working with other providers, teachers and families
Responsibilities
- Provide developmentally appropriate service based on individual needs
- Develop and implement IEPs that address each child's unique needs
- Use evidence-based practices and assessments to monitor progress and adjust services as needed
- Work collaboratively with teams of services providers (e.g., speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, 1-1 paraprofessionals and speech education teachers)
- Member of a team that provides integrated services in multi-disciplinary manner to promote greater generalizability of skills
- Serve as a resource for general education staff to ensure that needs are accommodated in the general education setting (including adaptive seating, sensory and other equipment needs)
- Indirect services in the general education setting focused on working with teacher to generalize student skills
- Participate in planning and conducting multidisciplinary evaluations to determine needs for related services
- Maintain accurate records, including assessment data, progress reports, and other required documentation for compliance purposes
- Complete service logs on a timely basis for Medical Assistance billing submissions
- Train and support paraprofessionals assigned to children on the ECSE teacher's caseload
- Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification for CIP, workshops, in-services, professional reading materials, and/or other available offerings consistent with district and program priorities
